Counselling - My approach

If this is the first time you are seeking help, then you might be wondering if counselling is for you and how it works. If you’ve had counselling before, let me tell you about my approach to trying to help you.

I am a counsellor with an integrative relational orientation. This is what I do. I invite you to sit down with me and I help you to tell me what is troubling you. I listen carefully, making no judgements and helping you to make better sense of your emotions and thoughts. I help you see patterns and recognise how these impact on your life. We explore meanings and relationships with others and I help you clarify and strengthen your sense of self.

We can do this either in my office, online or outdoors in nature but this ‘simply talking, exploring and being truly heard’ can be helpful, enabling you to feel more vital, connected and valued, ready to live your life to the full.

I know it can be hard to work out who is the right counsellor for you and which therapy to take. This is why I suggest booking a single starter session with me with no obligation to come again. This will help you decide if we are a ‘good fit’ and gives you the chance to talk about what you would like to get from your counselling experience.
